The advice offered below is based on the current State of the Character Optimization Meta as of when the article was last updated. We also won’t cover Unearthed Arcana content because it’s not finalized, and we can’t guarantee that it will be available to you in your games. We will not include 3rd-party content, including content from DMs Guild, in handbooks for official content because we can’t assume that your game will allow 3rd-party content or homebrew. Blue: Fantastic options, often essential.

It's just good commercial sense to maintain it's value, and WotC is very much a business. I do not expect they will damage their relationship with Larian or undersell the value of the D&D licence. It may or may not be an exclusive deal preventing anyone else making 5e content for a few years, but it's certainly of much higher value to WotC than relatively small scale licencing to studios like TA. Larian Studios have an undisclosed deal with WotC to produce a fully licensed 5e game and they have raised several million making BG3 (and it isn't even out of early access yet). The SRD is open source and that's the only part they have permission to use, which is why every feat, spell, subclass and class ability not in the SRD is invented by TA and carefully designed to be different to anything in the official books.
CROWN OF SOLASTA FULL
There have been other threads discussing this but I find it unlikely that TA would be able to secure the licence to full 5e content.
CROWN OF SOLASTA LICENSE
"Wizards of the Coast granted Tactical Adventures a license to use the Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.1 Ruleset, further anchoring our will to make the most faithful video game adaptation with the Tabletop Ruleset and craft the game you are hoping for!" If there's going to be a solasta 2, the only thing i really like to see are more customisations (head, hair, body types, beards, etc.) and better visuals and voice sets. kinda sad that ranger don't get animal companions (as it's not being featured in the SRD as well as some of the feats, etc).

So in all honestly, i like to see a full license D&D and some official campaign to be developed by Tactical Adventures. i do hope they learn from solasta but larian seems to be making its own game and not really a good adaptation of the dnd5e ruleset. I hope some WOTC guy read this forum.īaldur's gate 3 so far in its current state is a disappointment for me. i would hope that TA will contact WOTC and go full direct D&D license. however, loving every bit of solasta at the moment.
